What is the Bristol Barracuda Alumni Foundation?
The Foundation is many things and means different things to different people. Some Members join to keep up to date with the latest goings on with the current Bristol Barracuda team. Some Members join to keep up to date with social events so they can catch up with old friends and team mates. Some Members join to show their support for the club that helped mould them into the person they are today. Whatever your reason for joining the Foundation, there are great benefits to be had by being a full Member.
What are the benefits?
Apart from the knowledge that you are helping the Foundation give back to the team, each season the Foundation looks to organise multiple social events to coincide with the Bristol Barracuda's season schedule. These events are subsidised for Members of the Foundation. In addition, Members will receive subsidised fees for the annual Bristol Barracuda Alumni game, which we are hoping will return to the traditional kitted format later next year.
As a Member, you will also be eligible to attend and vote during any and all Foundation meetings. This is your opportunity to have your say in how we support our Members as well as support the current Bristol Barracuda team. Any Member may also be voted into a position on the Committee. An AGM is held every year to which all Members are invited to discuss the future of the Foundation and even run for a role.
This year will see the launch of the Bristol Barracuda Hall of Fame, where we as a Foundation will recognise 'Cuda greats of years gone by and forever immortalise them in 'Cuda lore. To be eligible to vote in the Hall of Fame process, you must be a current Member of the Foundation. We will be building an annual event around the Hall of Fame induction, to include a formal meal and ceremony to recognise the historical importance former players and coaches have had on the proud Bristol Barracuda tradition.
How do I become a Member of the Foundation?
This is the easy part. Simply send an email to alumni@bristolbarracuda.co.uk advising of your intention on joining our Membership ranks and we will send you the joining details. We ask for a minimum of £2 per calendar month as a Membership fee to join the Foundation sent via standing order. We will then match your details and add you to the Foundation's Membership ranks and keep you up to date with all the latest Foundation information.
